Photo privacy: choose who can see your pictures
Understand public, blurred, on-request and hidden photos. Learn how to approve or withdraw access and what privacy settings cannot prevent.
Choose a setting for each photo
Public shows the clear photo to people who can view your profile. Blurred shows a blurred preview. On request shows the clear photo only after you approve access. Hidden keeps the photo hidden from other members. New photos start on request.
Approve only when you are comfortable
Read the person’s profile and take time to talk before approving a photo request. You do not owe someone a photo because they sent an interest or shared theirs. Parents managing a profile should ask the person’s permission before sharing their photo.
You can withdraw access
Use Photo requests to review requests and withdraw access you previously approved. Check each photo’s visibility too: a public photo remains visible according to its public setting.
Understand the limits
No website can guarantee that a visible photo will not be saved, photographed or captured in a screenshot. Withdrawing access does not delete copies already made. Avoid photos that show identity documents, an exact home address or other private details.
Report pressure or misuse
If someone pressures you for photos or misuses them, stop sharing and use Report. Use Block if you want to end contact. Explain what happened so the team can review the concern.
