Questions about using Hamsar
Answers about free profiles, email verification, interest requests, photo privacy, family involvement and getting help on Hamsar.
Who is Hamsar for?
Hamsar is for Muslims aged 18 or over who are looking for marriage in Pakistan or abroad. Parents and family members can help with the person’s permission.
Can I start for free?
Yes. You can create a free profile, search for profiles and send a limited number of interest requests each day. Paid plans are optional. See Membership for current prices and daily limits. Payment does not verify your identity or guarantee a rishta.
Do I need an email address?
You can register with an email address or phone number. To publish your profile, send interest requests or chat, you must add and verify an email address. Password reset links are sent by email, not SMS.
Can parents create a profile?
Yes, with the permission of the person looking to get married. Enter that person’s name, date of birth and profile details. Say who manages the profile so the other person knows whether they are speaking with a family member.
What happens when an interest is accepted?
You can start a conversation on Hamsar. Accepting an interest only means that you are willing to talk. Either person can decide not to continue. It is not an agreement to marry.
Who can see my photos?
You choose the setting for each photo: public, blurred, on request or hidden. New photos start on request. You can approve or withdraw access. Once someone can see a clear photo, no website can guarantee that they will not take a screenshot or copy it.
Will my phone number be visible?
Your email and phone number are not displayed on your profile. When restricted-contact mode is enabled, chat also blocks phone numbers, email addresses and links. Do not put private contact details in your introduction or photos.
What does a verification label mean?
Read the label to see which check was completed. Email verified means the account has confirmed access to that email address. It does not confirm the person’s identity, background or intentions. A paid membership is separate from verification.
Can a guardian join my chats?
A guardian is optional. You can enable this in Settings and invite them by email. They can read chats after you give consent, and both people see that a guardian is present. You can turn this off or remove the guardian.
How do I find profiles in my city?
Open Find a rishta and choose a country and city. Results depend on the profiles available for search. If you see no results, try a wider age range or a nearby city.
Does Hamsar arrange visas?
No. Hamsar does not arrange visas or promise immigration approval. Discuss where you would live after marriage. Check visa information with the relevant government authority or a qualified adviser. Do not send money to a member who promises a visa.
Can I use the site in Urdu?
Yes. Use the language switch at the top or bottom of the page to choose English or Urdu.
How do I get help if I cannot log in?
Use Forgot password if your account has an email address you can access. Reset links are sent only by email. For other account or payment problems, contact support through the Contact page. Never send your password or a verification code.
Is Hamsar a marriage bureau?
No. Hamsar is an online service where you and your family can look for a match. You choose whom to contact, and an interest must be accepted before chat starts.
Is Hamsar a free rishta app?
